Obituary

Hugh "Jinx" Wilson Fry, 66, of State College, died Thursday, April 27,2006 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, after a short battle with cancer.
Born in Bellefonte on August 22,1939, he was the son of Ann Fry Burns of State College, and the late Albert Fry.
A 1957 graduate of State College Area High School, he married a classmate, Anne V. Smith, who survives at home.
He served with the U. S. Air Force from 1959 to 1963.
After working at HRB Singer from 1963 to 1979, Jinx joined the staff of The Pennsylvania State University, serving as a Lead Systems Analyst until his retirement in 1999.
He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and the Penn State Catholic Ministry.
An avid sports fan, Jinx was a member of the Penn State Golf Courses Burning T League. He was also a member of the State College American Legion Post 245, the Pine Grove Mills V. F. W. Post 5825 and the State College B.P.O.E. Lodge 1600.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Brad S. Fry and his wife Sherri of Fayetteville, AR; a daughter Tracy Anne Florey and her husband Tom of Boalsburg; two brothers, Richard Fry of Altoona, and James Fry and his wife Patti of Gatesburg; a sister Nancy Kurzinger of State College; and a grandson Nicholas Fry, and step-grandchildren, Blake, Rachel and Ryan all of Fayetteville, AR.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, at his request, memorial contributions can be made to the Mount Nittany Medical Center Nurses Fund, 1800 E. Park Ave., State College, PA 16801.
