Ingeborg Madicke Hollobaugh, 81, of State College, went to her eternal home to be with her family, Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at her residence near State College.
She was born July 18, 1929 in Neu Ulm, Germany, a daughter of the late Karl Madicke Sr. and Elsa Hummel Madicke. On August 2, 1952 she married Kenneth Eugene Hollobaugh who preceded her in death April 20, 1974.
Ingeborg survived WWII in Germany as a young girl living near where the battle of the Bulge occurred.
While living in Germany, she worked in a shoe factory. After coming to the U. S. she worked at Holiday Inn House Keeping and then worked at Murata in State College, retiring in 1995.
She especially liked her flowers, crocheting, making doll clothes and being with her family. She eagerly anticipated her daily visits with her son, her weekend visits with her daughter, and her weekly phone call from her daughter in Oregon.
She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. There will be a hole in our lives that will be filled when we unite again.
Surviving her are two daughters Sylvia Horner (Larry) of Portland OR, Kay Dean (Lee) of Petersburg; one son Don Hollobaugh (Beth) of State College; two sisters, Ingrid Zielke (David) of Tacoma Washington, and Ruth Schmitt of Canada; eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Collen Parks; three sisters, Else Madicke, Edetraude Gephardt and Elfreide Schwindt; and one brother, Karl Jr.
Friends will be received from 6 - 8 p. m. Monday, October 18, 2010, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall, PA. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a. m. Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery, Zion, PA
