Irene (Stepisianos) Shumac, 78, a lifetime resident of Altoona, passed peacefully Thursday evening.

She was married to Robert G. Shumac on November 1, 1952, who passed on March 1, 1989.

She was also preceded in death by her sons Robert S. Shumac - December 20, 1969, and Kevin S. Shumac - July 31, 1990.

Irene is survived by her children George A. Shumac, Robin A. (Shumac) Ganey, Jeffrey B. Shumac, James M. Shumac, ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Pastor Richard Maher will officiate a private interment service.
