Jacob "Jake" Shuey, 34, of rural Bellefonte, died, Friday, February 3, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center.
He was born November 13, 1982 at State College, a son of Felix A. and Connie J. Parks Shuey who survive at rural Bellefonte.
On July 5, 2003 he married Charlene L. Shay who survives.
Jake graduated from State College Area High School and was self-employed as a farmer devoting his life to the family farm. He loved animals as though they were his children. Jake derived his greatest joy from farming and enjoyed hunting.
He was an officer in FFA and served as sentinel; and was a member of Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents; is his paternal grandmother Gladys M. Shuey of rural Bellefonte; his aunts and uncles, Cherry, Darlene, Ruth, Edward, Robert and Greg Parks; two great aunts, Esther Watson and Peggy Bierly; a great uncle, Paul Walker and his canine friends Bandit, Munchie, Skylar and Taco.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, George H. Shuey and his maternal grandparents Edward H. and Betty J. Barton Parks.
Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11:00 am. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Road, State College, PA. The funeral will follow immediately at 11:00 am at the church with the Reverend Edward Preston officiating. Entombment will be in the garden mausoleum at Centre County Memorial Park.
