James Edward Gayles, III, aka James Ja Sol/ DJ Sol, 37, passed September 19, 2016 at his residence.

Born August 10, 1979 in New Paltz, NY a son of James Edward Gayles, Jr., of Newark, NJ and Barbara A. Davis Gayles of New York, NY.

He was married to Nicole (Whitaker) Gayles who resides in Avondale, AZ.

In addition to his parents and wife, James is survived by his four children, James Mackenzie Gayles, Abigail Alondra Gayles, Ayanna Nicole Gayles and Jalen Cole Gayles, one brother; Jacob Davis Gayles; four sisters, Ellora Johari Diehl, Jochebed Gethsemane Gayles, Prisca Gayles, and Grace Gayles; two nephews Durell Roosevelt Lafitte and Noah Emanuel Schttle; and niece Rachel Grace Young.

James, you beautiful majestic soul. Your love knew no bounds and was too big for this world. You touched so many people from coast to coast. Your message is clear; LOVE, above all else love. We see your Sol, J.

A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 29, 2016 at The Unity Church of Jesus Christ, 140 N. Gill Street, State College, PA 16801 with The Reverend Harold McKenzie officiating.

There will be an additional Sol Celebration of Life in Santa Rosa, California on October 8th.
