Obituary

James "Jim" L. Liston, 71 of Pleasant Gap, died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at his residence.
He was born May 25, 1934, in Uniontown, PA, a son of the late Jack Hayes and Eleanor Veronica "Emilie" O'Bryan Liston.
In 1961 he married LaRue A. Horne who survives at home.
Mr. Liston served in the U. S. Military for 24 years. He began by spending two years in the Army then transferring to the U. S. Air Force. During his career, he was a prisoner of war in the Korean Conflict, served three tours in Viet Nam, as well as having served in Panama, Granada, and Guam.
Following his retirement from the service, he worked at O. W. Houts in the lumber yard for 10 years, retiring in 1999.
Jim was a member of the American Legion Post 867 in Pleasant Gap.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Linda L. Waite and her husband David of Unionville, a son, Timothy J. Liston at home; two grandchildren, Debra L. and Daniel Waite; four sisters, Mildred Wood of Uniontown, Helen Cobert of North Carolina, Betty Blocker of Orlando, FL and Jane Thomas of Oil City; and one brother George Liston of Uniontown.
Friends will be received from noon until 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will be at 2:00 p. m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
