James B. Wingard, 68, of Centre Hall, passed away on Sunday, January, 11, 2009 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township.
Born in Coburn on August 14, 1940, he was the son of the late Wilbur L. and Esther E. (Bright) Wingard
He was married on October 14, 1967 to the former Wanetta J. "Neat" Davis, who survives him.
He was a graduate of the Penns Valley Area High School, class of 1958.
Mr. Wingard was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving 2 years.
He was employed at Stocker Chevrolet in the Auto Body Department, had owned and operated J & C Body Shop of Spring Mills, and retired from Penn State University in Janitorial Services.
He enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, hunting, attending public auctions & flea markets, and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Kim Johnson and her husband Lanny of Centre Hall, Sheila Lieb and her husband Jeff of Centre Hall, and Nicole Stover and her husband Jason of Spring Mills; one son, Jamie Wingard and his wife Dawn of Rebersburg; two brothers, Lee Wingard and his wife Donna and Ardell Wingard and his wife Jean all of Aaronsburg; one sister, Carol Ann Kester and her husband Charlie of Indiana State; nine grandchildren, Taylor Wingard, Logan and Leah Johnson, Rachel, Mason, and Joshua Lieb, Cassidy, Mallory, and Haddley Stover; one step granddaughter, Chelsea Baney; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece Bambie Kauffman, and his mother and father in law, Lester and Mabel Davis.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 PM, Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 226 South Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall. Funeral Services will be held from the St. Lukes Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA at 11 AM on Friday, January 16, 2009 with Reverend Dr. Barry Folmar officiating. Interment will follow at the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, West Church Street, Centre Hall.
