Janet Katherine Rinehart Donaldson, age 84, of Boalsburg, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2023 surrounded by her family. Born March 14, 1939 in Mansfield Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Philip E. and A. Katherine Rinehart. On June 11, 1960 she married Robert Donaldson, Jr. and celebrated 63 wonderful years together. She was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Caley and brother-in-law, Paul Caley.
Janet grew up in the Dallas Fort Worth Texas area. She moved to Pennsylvania and graduated from Haverford High School. She pursued her college education at Penn State University, where she met her future husband, Bob. Janet worked for many years at PNC Bank before she retired.
Janet loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and her cocker spaniel companions. She also loved to travel out west with Bob to Colorado and Wyoming and visit with family. Jan had a passion for quilting, sewing and embroidering. She was very proud of the quilts she made for her family that they will cherish for years to come.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Donaldson Briscoe and her husband Kevin of Boalsburg and Susan Weaver Jackson and her husband Dave of Bellefonte; three grandchildren, Michael Rudy (Kacie), Jena Weaver-Camacho (Edward) and Christopher Weaver (Sarah); two great grandchildren, Olivia Camacho and Liam Rudy. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Weaver (Barry) of Cheyenne, Wyoming and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 11:00AM - 1:00PM on Thursday, July 27, 2023 with a funeral service immediately following at 1:00PM, officiated by Rev. Greg Milinovich, at the Haky/Georgiana Centre County Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. A private family burial will take place afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Janet's memory can be made to Centre County PAWS. An on-line guestbook may be signed and condolences left for the family at www.hakygeorgianafh.com.
