Janet M. Price 87, of Altoona, died Monday, April 11, 2016 at UPMC in Altoona.

She was born July 23, 1928 at Altoona, a daughter of the late William O. and Ethel Cassel Vipond.

She was first married to Herman Price. She later married Harold Price both of whom preceded her in death.

Mrs. Price spent most of her working life in custodial services in the Altoona Area School District.

Janet was a member of Second Avenue United Methodist Church.

Crocheting was one of her favorite pastimes, having crocheted multiple afghans for family members and friends. She also enjoyed watching Professional Wrestling on TV. Going out to eat at Hoss's Steak and Sea House was another of the things she looked forward to and enjoyed.

Surviving her is one daughter Sandra Welch and her husband Pete; one son, Randy "Cig" Price, all of Altoona; two granddaughters, Cherie Wise and her husband Bruce Jr, and Melissa Zimmerman and her husband Gordon Jr. of Sinking Valley; five great grandchildren, Leah Wise Snyder and husband David, Gordon Zimmerman III, Jacob Zimmerman, Garrett Wise and Allison Wise; one great great granddaughter Madyson Wise; two sisters, Anna Mae Dobson of Greenwood, and Dottie Kling and her husband Don of Altoona; and one brother William Vipond and his wife Pauline of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Robert Vipond, Edward Vipond, Jack Vipond, and Ethel "Toots" Crowley.

A celebration of Mrs. Price's life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the chapel at Blair Memorial Park, 3234 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Bellwood PA. Burial will be in Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
