Janice "Duck" E. Brown, 74, of Centre Hall, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Centre Crest Nursing Center.
Born on May 12, 1937 in Potters Mills, she was a daughter of the late Gordon L. and Doris E. (Palmer) Hook.
On April 1, 1976, she was married to Larry A. Brown, who survives at home.
Through the years, she was employed at the Auto Port and the Nittany Lion Inn as a Waitress and also at George's Frosty Cup as an over the counter waitress.
Earlier in life, she attended Sprucetown United Methodist Church as was of the Christian faith.
Janice was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW in Potters Mills.
She enjoyed crocheting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Roderick A. Hampton and his companion Trudy of Claysburg, and Lenny S. Hampton and his wife Peggy of Tyrone; two sisters, Sharon Bathurst of Houtzdale and Virginia Alterio of Centre Hall; one brother, Ronald G. Hook of Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren, Carl, Jason, and Michael Hampton; and two great grandchildren, Skyler and Michael Hampton; and her constant companion, her Pug, Nika.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert C. Hampton; one great-granddaughter, Mia; three sisters, June B. Countryman, Lorraine Clouser, and Jo Anne Boscaino; and one brother, Lynn Hook.
Family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM on Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall.
Funeral Services will be held from the funeral home on Monday evening, beginning at 8 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
