Janice D. Shook, 82, of Spring Mills, died Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College.

She was born July 1, 1936, in Bellefonte, a daughter of the late Charles and Isabel (Breon) Witherite. On December 18, 1954, she married Justin Shook who preceded her in death on May 4, 2011. They were married for 57 wonderful years.

Janice enjoyed gardening, playing the piano and organ and watching the Pittsburgh Penguins.  Janice was always on the go, she loved animals especially her dog Kelly and the baby calves on the farm. She cherished the time she spent reading and meditating on Jehovah and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving her is one son; J. Douglas Shook of Pleasant Gap; grandson, Brian and his wife Jenny of State College; one brother, Raymond Witherite of Lockport, NY.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Florence Zubler and grandson, Chris Shook.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2018, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 101 Villandry Blvd, State College, PA 16801.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family at the Heckman Cemetery, Spring Mills.
