Jean Elizabeth Trynosky, 85, of State College, went to be with her Lord, on Saturday, April 12, 2008, surrounded by her family at her home.
She was born April 7, 1923, in State College, a daughter of the late Roger B. and Anna E. Shank Poorman.
On October 12, 1945 she married Peter R. Trynosky who survives at home.
In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons, Ronald and his wife Jutta of Perkiomenville, PA and Michael A. Trynosky and his wife Elizabeth of Colchester, Conn.; one sister Ellen L. Poorman of Pleasant Gap; and two brothers in law, Michael Trynosky and his wife Marge of Boulder CO, and Harry Dunheimer of Pottsville, PA and several nieces and nephews.
Jean was a 1941 graduate of State College High School, and a 1943 graduate of the Altoona School of Commerce.
She enjoyed gardening and was an avid bowler.
Mrs. Trynosky was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in State College where she sang in the choir as a young girl. While living in Connecticut for many years, she was a member the First Church of Christ Congregational Church in Old Saybrook, where she was also active in the choir. She is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 167 in Allentown, the Royal Neighbors of America and the Modern Woodman of America.
Friends will be received from 6 - 8 p. m. Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, where an Order of the Eastern Star Service will be conducted at 8:00 p. m. The funeral will be at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at the funeral home with the Reverend Eric J. Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, PA.
