Jeanne H. Smith, 86, of State College, died Wednesday, June 29,2005 at Brookline Village, the Fairways.
She was the only daughter to the late Chalmers Holmes and Charlotte H. Crownover Hennen born on April 2,1919 in Mannor Hill, PA.
She was a graduate of Juniata College in Foods and Nutrition. After graduating, she worked as a Therapeutic Dietitian in Allentown and then moved on to Pittsburgh for ten years as an Administrative Dietitian. She then returned to State College in 1966 to work at Penn State as a Music Librarian. She then transferred to the Ritenour Health Center as Dietitian and Facility Supervisor. Retiring in 1984, after 27 and half years, she then worked the next three years at WGMR/Radio as the Office Manager. She then worked briefly at Travelers Insurance Co. as a Records Processor.
She was a member of the University Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Jeaune Smith,; one son, H. Chalmers Smith and his wife Susan of State College,;two granddaughters, Margaret Pfitzenmaier of Lititz,PA and Sarah Smith of Portland,OR,; and one great-granddaughter, Lily Pfitzenmaier.
Visitation and services will be private and at the convience of the family. Burial will be at the Mannor Hill Methodist Cemetery.
