Jerry M. Strouse, 75, of State College died February 15, 2015 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College.
Born August 21, 1939 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Doyle F. and Eleanor (Lucas) Strouse.
Jerry married Dolores Vignetti, who survives in State College.
He was a 1957 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School in Mill Hall. Early in life he was a member of the Doyle Strouse Family Band from Lamar.
He first worked for the Paper Mill in Lock Haven, then for Corning Glass in State College and retired as a personnel manager from Berg in Huntingdon. He enjoyed hunting, traveling and walking his dog Yogi.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Scott Strouse (Pam) of State College and Steve Strouse (Missy) of Howard; two step-sons, Robert Bitner of Los Angeles, CA and Scott Bitner of Centre Hall; seven grandchildren, Logan, Kurtis, Erica, TJ, and Takara Strouse, Kylie Kling and Corey Strouse; two step-grandsons, Brandon and Matt Bitner; two sisters, Eva Ketner (Jim) of Lancaster and Audrey Oakes (Jack) of Centre Hall and one brother, Larry Strouse (Melba) of Newville.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his son Lynn, and two sisters, Arline Wonchoba and Majorie Stover.
Visitation will be 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with the Reverend Mark Messner officiating. Entombment will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
