Jesse Kenneth Walker, 92, a life long resident of Centre County, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at the Fairways at Brookline Village.
He was born November 20, 1915, in Lemont, PA; a son of the late Roy and Helen Klinger Walker.
On March 29, 1941, he married Betty Sommers Walker who preceded him in death on December 14, 1996.
Mr. Walker is survived by his granddaughter Erin Spanier, his grandson Adam Spanier, his great-grandson Jesse Evers and a brother and sister in law, Ed and Barbara Sommers. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter Diana Walker Spanier and a sister Kathryn Walker.
He graduated from State College High School and earned a bachelor's degree in dairy science and a master's degree in agricultural economics from Penn State.
A retired dairy farmer, he owned and operated Klinger Farms Dairy on Elmwood St. until 1975, and subsequently a cattle and crop farm near Centre Hall.
Mr. Walker was a member of Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church where he enjoyed attending services and singing in the choir. He also enjoyed being a part of a barbershop quartet.
Friends will be received from 9:30 a. m. to 10:00 a. m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Road, State College, PA. The funeral will follow at 10:00 a. m. with the Reverend Howard Woodruff officiating. Burial will follow at the Houserville Cemetery.
