Joan R. Williams Roan, 83, of Bellefonte, died Friday, February 8, 2019 at Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte.

She was born September 27, 1935, in Zion, PA; the daughter of the late John C. and V. Brittamart (Tennis) Williams. Following the death of her mother, Joan lived with her grandparents, Roy and Roxie Clements.

On December 3, 1955, she married Kenneth J. Roan who preceded her in death on March 5, 2008.

She was a graduate of State College High School and a member of the Alumni Association. She was also a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Bellefonte.

For many years Joan was employed at the Centre County Hospital and later was employed in the Applied Science Laboratories in State College, she retired from Centre County Government in December 2007.

She is survived by her son Kenneth L. Roan and his wife Marti of Bellefonte, two grandsons Bryan Roan and wife Samantha of Bellefonte, Daniel Roan of Catonsville, MD and one great grandson Casen Roan.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by and infant brother, John Edwin Williams.

All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Pine Hall Cemetery, State College.
