Joe A. Miller, 81, of State College died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at his home.
Born August 28, 1934, in Bloomington, IN he was the son of the late Herbert and Bernice (Dudley) Miller. On June 16, 1956, he married the love of his life Nancy (Johns) Miller who preceded him in death on October 22, 2011.
Joe was a 1951 graduate from Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He then went on and received his B.A. in 1957, M.A. in 1962, and then his PhD in 1969, from Michigan State University.
Joe was a Health Policy and Administration Professor at Purdue University, The University of Michigan, and Pennsylvania State University. He retired from Penn State after twenty-eight years of service.
Joe enjoyed going bowling, sharing funny stories with friends, and spending time with his cats.
He is survived by two loving friends and their families, Beth (Gary) Williams of State College, Kimberly Clark of Curwensville, and her two daughters "Dolly" Madison and Destiny.
Along with his parents and wife Nancy, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Donald, and Jack Miller, and one informally adopted daughter Kathy Witcher.
