Obituary

John William Dashem, Sr. 84, of Rural Centre Hall, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.
He was born July 22, 1920 in Potter Township, a son of the late John Wilbur and Grace Bower Dashem.
On September 27, 1941, he married Geraldine H. Dutrow, who preceded him in death on May 14, 1999.
Mr. Dashem graduated from Centre Hall Potter High School in 1939. He farmed most of his life in Potter Township. Farming was his employment and his hobby. He was happiest when he was working, and following his retirement; he spent countless hours mowing grass on his tractor.
He is survived by a son John William Dashem Jr. and his wife Lucille of rural Centre Hall; a grandson Howard William Dashem, and his wife Jessica of rural Centre Hall; his great grandchildren; one sister Helen Dashem of Hearthside Nursing Center in State College and one brother, Harry Dashem of rural Centre Hall.
Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11:00 on Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services P. C., 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a. m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Russell L. Sauerwein and the Rev. Dean Rupe officiating. Burial will be in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery on W. Church St., Centre Hall, PA
