Obituary

John Paul Devereaux, 93, of State College, died June 27, 2009 at Greenhills Village, State College.
Born November 9, 1915 in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of Eugene and Theresa (Shnell) Devereaux.
On January 29, 2005, in State College, he married Mary Jo Michel, who survives at Windy Hills Village in Philipsburg, PA. He was preceded in death by two wives: Evelyn (Schomburg) and Mary (Meconi) Devereaux.
John Paul retired from Pennsylvania State University as an accounting professor. He was also a former Justice of the Peace. He attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. He was a member of the Elks Club and a member and Faculty Vice President of the Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Fraternity. John Paul was also a HAM Radio operator.
In addition to his wife John is survived by one son, Richard Devereaux of State College, a step son David and wife Karen Michel of State College; a step daughter Janet Eklund of Andover, NH; a brother Eugene Devereaux in Arizona a sister Theresa Devereaux of Union City, NJ; and three step granddaughters; Kathy Garman and husband Donald of State College, Linda Putt and husband Edward of Centre Hall, and Deborah Weidhaas and husband Richard of Pennsylvania Furnace.
All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
