Juanita A. Shoemaker, 45, of State College, died April 16, 2014 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born April 13, 1969 in Fort Sill, OK she was a daughter of Judy Shoemaker of State College and the late John Decker.
Juanita was a former Easter Seals Poster Child, and a 1989 graduate of State College High School. She was a former employee at Penn State where she worked as a typist. She also worked at Skills as an attendance statistician.
She attended the Houserville United Methodist Church, loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, camp and enjoyed shopping, going out to dinner and the movies with her good friend Karry Carr.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sisters, Jenifer Asbell (Doug) of Centre Hall and Jessica Decker (Keith Green) of State College, and nieces and nephews, Hunter and Audree Asbell, Cayla Smith and Trenton Decker.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Monday, April 21, 2014 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, a funeral service will follow at 8 PM at the funeral home with the Reverend Renee Ford officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Juanita's name may be made to Strawberry Fields, 3054 Enterprise Drive, State College, PA 16801.
