June Farwell Bloom, 83, of Lemont, died June 10, 2010 at the Fairways of Brookline.
Born June 20, 1926 in Curwensville, PA she was a daughter of the late Cline and Code (Haney) Farwell.
On September 11, 1947, in Clearfield, she married James R. Bloom, who survives at home.
June was a graduate of Clearfield High School Class of 1944. In 1947 she graduated from the Clearfield Hospital Nursing Program. She later received a BS in Nursing and Elementary Education from Penn State.
She was the head pediatric nurse at the former Bellefonte Hospital at Willowbank. More recently she was an office nurse for several doctors in the State College Area.
June was a member of the Spring Creek Presbyterian Church and the Clearfield Nurses Alumni Assoc., and enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, traveling and R.V. ing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Captain James R. Bloom, Jr., MD of Naples, Italy (Ginger Grieco of Spring Mills); three daughters; Heidi Weimer (Tom) of Knoxville, TN, Gretchen Rebarchak (Paul) of Boalsburg and Coralie Bloom (Glenn Taylor) of Gatlinburg, TN; four grandchildren Nathan Bloom, Caleb Rebarchak, Mitchell and Kendra Bloom.
Visitation will be 2-4 PM, Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM at the funeral home with the Reverend David Meyer officiating.
Private interment will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
