June "Cathy" Rhoades, 65 of Centre Hall, died Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center at State College.

She was born July 26, 1950 in Germantown, Philadelphia. She was the daughter of Alma M. Martz of Centre Hall and the late LeRoy J. Hawbaker.

Cathy was very family oriented and her greatest joy came from spending time with them. She was an incredibly giving and big hearted person that acted as a motherly figure to all; who cherished gardening, flowers and traveling to the ocean.

Cathy was a 1968 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School. She was a member of the American Legion Post 893, of Milesburg.

In addition to her mother, Cathy is survived by one daughter Nichole Rhoades-Arce (Thomas); one son Edwin "Eddie" Rhoades,IV (Raquel), all of Centre Hall; two sisters, Susan Rusher of Centre Hall and Cindy Rusnak of Bellefonte; two grandchildren Trevor and Owen Rhoades and two special nephews Mark and Taylor Rusnak.

Along with her father she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Clara Bradford. And her step father George W. Martz.

Friends will be received Tuesday, May 10, 2016, from 2 -4 p.m. at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. A celebration of life service will follow immediately at 4:00 p. m at the funeral home, with the Reverend Rebecca Horn officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to the funeral home to help offset the funeral expenses.
