Karen S. Snare, 62, of Spring Mills passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born January 8, 1954, in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of Joseph A. Furfaro and the late Phyllis (Hull) Rearick. On August 7, 1993, she married Terry L. Snare Sr. who survives at home.

She enjoyed bowling, camping, and going to the grange fair. She loved country music especially Trace Adkins and watching PSU sports and the NY Mets.

Karen was a Secretary at Penn State University for thirty-six years, after her retirement she worked for Wes Miller Insurance Company for five years.

Along with her husband, Terry, she is survived by one son; Eric S. Butler of Spring Mills; two step children, Keri Laird (Mike), of Madisonburg, and Terry Snare Jr. of Pleasant Gap; five sisters, Barbara Foster (Dave) of Philipsburg, Patricia Bickle (Lynn Perryman Jr.) of Pleasant Gap, Sharon Zimmerman (Ken) of Howard, Pebbles Breon (Allen) of State College, Joyce Furfaro (John) of Bellefonte; six brothers, Thomas Rearick (Chris) of Boalsburg, John Rearick (Deb) of Petersburg, Michael Rearick of Pine Grove, Darrell Furfaro (Judy) of Bellefonte, Carl Furfaro (Chin) of Seattle, WA, Rodger Furfaro (Brenda) of Indian Trail, NC; one granddaughter Danealle Butler; three step Grandchildren, Andrew Young, Kassee and Harlee Laird, and one great-granddaughter, Chloe Luzier.

Along with her mother Phyllis, she was preceded in death by her step father, John Rearick; one sister, Brenda Young, and one brother Jeffrey Rearick.

Friends and family will be received from 6:00p.m. to 8:30p.m. Friday, February 19, 2016, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. The funeral service will be held at 10:30a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016, at the funeral home, with Pastor John Snare officiating. Entombment will take place in the Chapel Mausoleum at Centre County Memorial Park.
