Obituary

Keith Daniel Luse, 70, of rural Spring Mills, died Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born February 2, 1935 in Centre Hall; a son of the late Fred E. and Sara H. Smith Luse.
On May 7, 1983, he married Kaylene R.Garrison who survives at home.
Keith was a lifetime member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Centre Hall.
He was a 32 degree mason and a member of Old Fort Lodge #537 of the Free and Accepted Masons in Centre Hall, the Altoona Consistory, the Jaffa and Centre County Shrines, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 1600, State College. He served as a past master of the Rose Croix of Altoona.
A community minded person, Mr. Luse was a past president of the Centre Hall Lions Club, a past fire chief of the Centre Hall Fire Company and one of the original members who started the Ambulance Club. He also served on Centre Hall Borough Council and on the Board of Directors of Northwest Savings Bank.
In 1962, Keith formed Luse Distributing, a snack food distribution company in the center region, now covering four counties. In 1990 he built the Old Fort Mini Storage.
Keith had a strong work ethic, working countless hours in his business, in the community; and was passionate about keeping his lawn immaculately landscaped and manicured. In recent years he did enjoy spending winters with his wife at their Ft. Myers, Florida residence. He also enjoyed golfing and riding his motorcycle.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Mona R. Booher of McKees Rocks, PA; two sons, Keith B. Luse and his wife Sharon, and Christopher P. Luse and his wife Trina all of Centre Hall; a granddaughter, Paige E. Luse, daughter of Mona, of McKees Rocks; two grandsons, Rory D. Luse and his wife Tonya, and Keith B. Luse Jr. and his wife Heather all of Centre Hall; two great grandchildren, Abagael K. Luse and Raegyn A. Luse; one sister, Donna V. Clinger and her husband Howard, of Churchville, PA; one brother A. Robert Luse and his wife Inez of Centre Hall; two stepdaughters, Deana L. Styer and her husband John, of Clarksville, TN and Nichole M. Weikel and her husband Ronald, of Beavertown, PA; and three step grandchildren, Rachael N. and Alexander B. Styer and Megan N. Plummer.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p. m. on Sunday, December 4, 2005 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. Members of Old Fort Lodge # 537 will conduct a Masonic service at the church, at 8:00 p. m.. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at the church with the Reverends Russell L. Sauerwein and Dean Rupe officiating. Burial will be in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals, Office of Development, International Shrine Headquarters, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607-1460 or to St. Luke Lutheran Church, P. O. Box 331, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
