Kenneth O. Brown, 94, of 314 W. Church St., Centre Hall died Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Centre Crest Nursing Home.
He was born December 12, 1911 in Yarnell. He was the son of the late Charles M. and Mabel A. Brown.
On August 20, 1934 he married Helen I. Decker. She preceded him in death on September 20, 1997.
Mr. Brown was a 1930 graduate of Bellefonte High School and attended Lock Haven State Teachers College. For many years he attended the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church of State College.
He retired from Cerro Copper & Brass in April, 1974 after nearly 40 years of service. He was able to enjoy his retirement by traveling throughout the country and accomplished his long time dream to see Alaska.
In 1946 he established his own Gunsmith business and operated it until 1991. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and was an avid deer and turkey hunter, loved his hunting camps and found solace in the woods around them.
He is survived by three children, Meriam B. Smith and her husband Gary, Lorren W. Brown and his wife Carol of Centre Hall. Diane L. Keller and her husband Stephen of Bellefonte; two brothers Ernest L. Brown of Milesburg and Sheldon K. Brown of Clarence; two sisters Norma Weston, Julian and Ruby Richner of Bellefonte. He has 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.
A visitation will be held from 3 - 6 p. m. Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall, PA
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a. m. Monday, May 1, 2006 at the funeral home, with the Rev. S. Leigh Pick officiating. Burial will follow at the Centre County Memorial Park.
