Krista Marie Mayes, 39, of State College, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2011 in State College. Born on May 30, 1972 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of Kenneth Mayes and Linda Conaway. Krista was a graduate of Lock Haven University, and was an RN for 14 years. She loved her pets and took every opportunity to spoil them. In addition to her parents she was survived by her sisters, Nicole Kertis and Jolene Melancon; step mother, Karen Mayes; paternal grandmother, Martha Mayes; nieces, Bethany Boob, Gretchen Bressler, Paige Melancon; nephew, Tyler Melancon; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will have a private service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Krista's memory to Pets Come First, P.O. Box 493, Lemont, PA 16851.
