V. Lane Dixon 68, of Boalsburg, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003 at her residence.
Born May 29, 1935 in Sandy Ridge, she was a daughter of Ernest and Bernice Boyer Reese.
On Sept 1, 1956, she married Kenneth Dixon Jr. who survives at home.
She was a 1953 graduate of Philipsburg High School.
Early in life she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company. For many years she worked as a file clerk at Pattee Library, retiring in 1997.
She was a member of the State College Assembly of God, where she served on the Prayer Chain Ministry, as a nursery assistant and as an overseer of the tape ministry to shut-ins. She was also active in helping in the kitchen for the events held at the church.
She was a member of the Centre County Christian Woman's Club, and was a Lioness with the Harris Twp. Lions Club.
She was an avid and accomplished cook and baker. She enjoyed gardening, especially working with flowers.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Diane M. Dixon of Freeland, two sisters, LaRue Kessler of Sandy Ridge, and Marietta Johnson, of Erie, and two brothers, Charles Reese of York, and Walter Reese of Red Lion.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by son Tom A. Dixon, who died Feb. 12, 1990 and five brothers.
Friends will be received from 6 - 9 p. m. Tuesday, and 1 to 2 p. m. Wednesday, in the chapel of the Assembly of God, 2201 University Drive Extension, State College, PA 16801
The funeral will be at 2 p. m. Wednesday in the chapel of the church with the Rev. Paul E. Grabill officiating.
Burial will be in the Boalsburg Cemetery.
