Larry Russell Moyer, 63, of Potters Mills, died unexpectedly, at his home on Thursday, April 10, 2008.
He was born May 9, 1944, in Bellefonte, a son of the late Russell and Irene Confer Moyer.
In 1962 he married Sharon E. Hillard Moyer who survives at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Christine I. Moyer of Danville and Angelique R. Hunter and her husband Christopher of Berlin, MD; two grandchildren, Allison Hunter and Jay Thomas Walker; two sisters, Julia R. Franklin of rural Spring Mills, and Janet E. Dixon and her husband the Reverend Bradley Dixon of Camden Wyoming, MD, and one brother, Allen D. Moyer and his wife Tammy of rural Spring Mills and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Larry graduated from Penns Valley High School in 1962. He served in the U. S. Air Force as a fire fighter from 1962 to 1965.
He owned and operated Moyer's Garage at Potter Mills for many years. Larry was a gifted mechanic who enjoyed working on cars and had an interest in classic cars. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening and raising flowers and fruit trees.
He was a member of V. F. W. Post 9575 at Potters Mills and the American Legion Post 779 at Centre Hall, Milroy American Legion Post 287, and the Yeagertown Volunteer Fire Company. He was a former member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks in Bellefonte.
Friends will be received from 6 - 7 p. m. Monday, April 14, 2008 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The memorial service will follow immediately at 7:00 p. m. with the Reverend Bradley Dixon officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
