Lenore Reeder Rutschky, 94, of State College, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Juniper Village.
Born August 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Oscar L. and Mary (Eisenmenger) Reeder.
On July 26, 1945 in Williamsport, PA she married Charles W. Rutschky who survives at home.
She graduated from Penn State in 1943 and was a teacher in Mt. Union high school for three years.
Lenore was an AAUW (American Association of University Women) Life Member, and a member of the University Baptist and Brethern Church where she taught Sunday school and served on many boards. She was a sister of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and was active in Centre County Mental Health Association and NAMI. In Lee's early years she enjoyed needlework, gemming and lapidary. She also enjoyed the outdoors especially hiking and canoeing, and rock and gem hunting.
She is survived by her husband Charles and three sons, Jonathan ( Dr.Susan Hunt) Rutschky of Eagle, WI, Paul (Vivian) Rutschky of Oxnard, CA and Matthew (Cindy) Rutschky of State College; three grandsons, Jonathan, Paul Jr. ( Pamela), and Erik Rutschky ; and one granddaughter, Alina Rutschky.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Charleen Rutschky on February 24, 2015 and a brother, Paul Reeder.
Friends and family will be received 1-2 PM, Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at The University Baptist and Brethern Church, 411 S. Burrows Street, State College. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with The Reverend Bonnie Kline Smeltzer officiating.
Interment will be in Centre County Memorial Park, State College.
