Leonard F. Hughes, 90, of Bellefonte, died Friday, May 12, 2006 at his residence.
He was born on February 27, 1916 in Salladasburg, PA to the late Wasson and Olive Dyke Hughes.
He retired from the Street Cleaners Division for the City of Williamsport.
He served in World War II with the U. S. Army Air Force.
He enjoyed fishing, working on lawnmowers, and auto body repair.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Betty R. (Fravel) Hughes of Bellefonte; a daughter, Joyce Lewis of Trout Run; two stepdaughters, Barbara Shilling of Bellefonte and Connie Barger of Centre Hall; a brother, Howard Hughes of Wellsboro; a sister, Reba Wolfe of Nevada; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson; three brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be private. A public memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at the Church of Good Shepherd, 402 Willowbank St., Bellefonte, PA, with the Rev. Frank Skies officiating.
