Obituary

The Reverend Leroy F. Fetterolf, 82, of Zion, went home to be with his Lord, Monday March 5, 2007, at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.
He was born January 3, 1925, in Troxelville, PA; a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Aumiller Fetterolf; and was the last of his generation.
On June 15, 1948, in Washington, PA, he married Ruby Ileene Williams who survives at home.
He is also survived by a daughter Laurel Elaine Fetterolf of Bellefonte; several nieces and nephews including, Ronald and Nancy Fetterolf of Elkton, MD; Forest and Norma Fetterolf, Rudy and Bonnie Fetterolf, and Emily and Kenneth Moyer all of Snyder County; Steve and Elaine Showalter of Danville, Jack and Marge Showalter, David and Lori Showalter, Mary Elizabeth and Richard Devette, and Becky Showalter Fensterbush all of Union County; a sister in law Edna Fetterolf of Lewisburg and a brother in law John Wesley Showalter of rural Millmont.
He was preceded in death by one sister Lillian Fetterolf Showalter and four brothers, Arthur and Luther who were twins, and Glenn and John Fetterolf.
Leroy graduated from Beaver Vocational High School at Beaver Springs in 1943.
He served three years in the U. S. Army during World War II with the 278th Field Artillery Battalion serving in England, France, and Germany.
Following his military service he enrolled in Eastern Pilgrim College in Allentown, graduating in 1956 with a Bachelor's degree in Theology.
He was then licensed and ordained with the Wesleyan Church serving as pastor at Mabel interdenominational Church for four years and at Coleville Wesleyan Church, for eight years, where he still maintained his membership, and as an evangelist traveling the east coast as well as holding meetings in the Caribbean Islands. He also served as a supply pastor for several churches in the area. For sixteen years, between meetings, he also worked at Weis Markets in Bellfonte. He retired in 1994 due to Parkinson's Disease after serving the Wesleyan Church for forty years.
Rev. Fetterolf especially enjoyed reading and studying his Bible.
Friends will be received from 6 - 8 p. m. Friday, March 9, 2007, at Zion Community Church 3261 Zion Road, Zion, PA., and from 10:30 - 11:00 am Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the church. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a. m. Sat. at the Church with the Reverends Charles Williamson, former District Superintendent with the Wesleyan Church, John Volkots and Michael Hoskins officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Zion Cemetery, Zion, PA
