Llewellyn G. Meek, 65, of Port Matilda, died Saturday, May 7,2005 at his residence.
He was born on December 1,1939 in Bellefonte to the late Harry and Dorothy Burge Meek.
On February 8,1969 he married Beverly A. Frye who survives.
He retired from HRI as cement forman.
He was a member of the Port Matilda Sportsman's Club.
He was passionate about hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed, collecting butterflies and bird watching.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Robert L. and his wife Emma of Grass Flat, Galen "Gab" G. and his significant other Dorothy Poullos of Tyrone, Rodney L. and his wife Rachel of Tyrone, Glenn E. and his wife Cindy of Sandy Ridge,; four daughters, Charlene R. Woodring and her husband Steven of Port Matilda, Terry L. Meek and her significant other David Allen of Lock Haven, Luann Griffin of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Glenda Stithe of KY,; two brothers, Richard of Port Matilda, Robert of Antioch, CA,; a sister, Peg Rockey of Altoona,; eighteen grandchildren,; many nieces and nephews,; a very special nephew who was more like a son, Richard Meek of Karthus. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Harry,; and two sisters, Grace Meek and Betty Bertiaux.
The visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11,2005 at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. The funeral service will held graveside at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 12,2005 at the Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Centre Unit, 123 S. Sparks St., State College, PA 16801-3915.
