Lloyd W. Spicer, 92, of Pleasant Gap, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College.
He was born August 13, 1913, in Milesburg, a son of the late George and Bessie Walker Spicer.
On July 22, 1939, he married Carrie E. Barger who survives at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Janet Robinson of State College, and Nancy Rudy and her husband David of Port Matilda; two sons James A. Spicer and his wife Nancy of Stormstown, and David Spicer of Philipsburg; 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Rockey and her husband Grover of Bellefonte, Ethel Long of Centre Hall and Alice Millinder and her husband Arthur of State College. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Stevens and Dorothy Corl; and four brothers, Wilber, Odie, Raymond, and Arthur Spicer.
Mr. Spicer worked at Penn State university for many years.
He attended Milesburg Assembly of God. He especially enjoyed gardening and working with flowers, and fishing and hunting.
Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2006, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will be at 10:30 at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
