Lois B. Ammerman, 83, of State College, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Fairways of Brookline in State College.
Born on February 19, 1925 in Tyrone, Lois was a daughter of the late Solomon E. and Ruth (Bice) Beyer.
Lois was a 1944 graduate of Tyrone High School. She married Joseph M. Ammerman on September 8, 1951, who preceded her in death.
Lois was a member of the Pine Grove Mills Presbyterian Church, member of the church's Women's Auxiliary, and member of the Ferguson Twp. Senior Citizens Group.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Frederick, Al, Scott, and David Beyer; as well as one sister, Jane L. Beyer.
Mrs. Ammerman is survived by three daughters, Mary Joe Beck and husband Robert M. Jr. of Warriors Mark, Linda A. Burns and fianc Scott Pierce of PA Furnace, and Karen V. Stitzer and husband Donald E. of Spring Mills; eight grandchildren, Robert W. Laird Jr., Daniel E. Stitzer, Holly A. and Christina M. Burns, Robert M. III, Samantha K., Joseph T., and Solomon C. Beck; four great-grandchildren, Nicole M. Robinson, Justin T. Bayly, Christopher M. and Rebecca E. Beck; two step-grandsons, Donald W. and Timothy A. Stitzer.
Friends will be received from 6:00 to 9:00 pm., Friday, November 21, 2008 and from 9:00 to 10 am., Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am. Saturday at the funeral home with the Reverend Carl D. Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park.
