Obituary

Lois (Ann) Ross Boozer Krape passed away on November 8, 2016, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College. Lois was born October 13, 1925, in rural Bellefonte, a daughter of the late Paul R. Ross and Helen Swartz Ross. Lois married C. William Boozer, Jr. on October 21, 1949, who died on January 9, 1961. On November 18, 1964, Lois married Homer R. Krape, who died on October 7, 1982.
Lois attended one and two- room school houses up through 8th grade and was a 1944 graduate of Centre Hall Potter High School. After graduation, Lois worked as an inspector at Titan Metals in Bellefonte until the end of World War II. Lois was a registered nurse, graduating in 1949 from the Polyclinic Hospital School of Nursing in Harrisburg. She practiced nursing in a variety of departments during her life time, the last being the school nurse in the Penns Valley Area School district from 1961 - 1967.
Lois is survived by one son, Robert (Nancy) Boozer of Centre Hall, PA; two daughters, Dianne (Tim) LePore of South Windsor, CT, and Suzanne (Donald) Fisher of Lewisburg, PA, and daughter-in-law, Jane (Grant) Boozer of Centre Hall, PA. Also surviving are three step-children, Marjorie Pellegrina of Virginia, Linda (Michael) Sywulak of Havertown, PA, and Randal Krape of Virginia. Her brother Robert (Joyce) Ross of Hummelstown, PA, also survives. Lois is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her son, Grant Boozer, of Centre Hall, PA. Also preceding her in death were her three sisters, Jean (Robert) Schaich of Tennessee, Emeleen (Paul) Zubler of Spring Mills, PA, and Betty (Blaine) Mullins of Arizona.
Lois was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Centre Hall. She loved playing cards and board games with her family and friends. Lois was a long-time participant in the Harvard Nurses Study of Women's Health starting in 1976.
As requested by Lois, there will be no viewing or memorial service. Funeral services will be for the family only at their convenience with burial in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall.
