Lois Eileen Roudybush Neubert was born on July 06, 1929 in Brackenridge, PA, the daughter of John and Lois (Wagner) Roudybush. She attended grade school in Armstrong County and graduated from Butler High School in 1947. She completed her nurse's training in Allegheny Valley Hospital and became a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. She liked to be in obstetrics and worked in the Wareham Hospital and in Grace New Haven Hospital in New Haven.

On July 10, 1950, she married Vernon H. Neubert in Hannahstown, PA. They dug the foundation for their first house together there. The house was completed by 1952, with help from Vernon's Father and his Uncles. Eileen traveled with Vernon to various Army assignments in the USA during the Korean War. Their first son, Chris, was born at Ft. Dix, NJ in 1951. Clay was born in Brackenridge in 1954. In September, 1953, they moved into their new house. From 1954 to 1957 in New Haven, she supported the family while Vernon earned his doctorate at Yale. Kathy, Wendy, and Marlene were born in New London in 1957, 1959, and 1961, respectively.

She had a beautiful voice and sang with the State College Choral Society. She and Vernon sang "This Old House" as a duet in the Penns Valley Snow Frolics two separate seasons. She taught Sunday school and was especially interested in the Old Testament.

She was also a first rate gardener and developed a beautiful apple orchard with 15 kinds of apples. Apple cider and apples were shared with her neighbors. Strawberries were her favorite garden crop and she packaged some and froze them each year, along with strawberry jam, which made excellent dinner treats during the winter. Her homemade bread was a specialty. She loved quilting and usually had a quilt in the frame at home. She also participated in church women's groups and helped with the sewing and quilting circles. Friends helped her quilt, but she often finished them herself. Above all, she inspired her family and was a dedicated and loving mother.

She leaves her children, with love: Chris V. of State College; Clay A. with wife Marsha, of Powell, WY; Kathy R. Odato, with Gene, in Landisburg, PA: Wendy C. Valot, with Douglas, in Houston, Texas and Marlene A. Curto, with Antonio, in Coopersburg, PA. She had seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren: Clay's Lucas and Blake Neubert, Kathy's Meredith and Nicholas Odato, Wendy's Ben and Rachel Valot, and Marlene's Stefano Curto as well as Blake's two great grandchildren: Clara and Felix Neubert.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Home, of Centre Hall, as well as the Kennedy Funeral Home, of Kittanning. At her request, there will be no public visitation. A graveside service will take place 11:00 AM, Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery in Worthington, PA.
