Lorraine M. Kelly, 65, of Stormstown, rural Port Matilda, PA; died unexpectedly Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at her residence.
She was born February 11, 1945, in Bronx, NY a daughter of the late Eugene and Gertrude Lithgow.
On March 2, 1963 she married David Mitchell Kelly who survives at home.
Lorraine graduated from Weldon Howitt High School in Farmingdale, Long Island, NY.
She was employed in various clerical positions including Gem Electronics on Long Island; and was involved in the founding of her husband's business, Dave's Cleaning Service in State College.
Mrs. Kelly was a long time active and dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at State College, and was passionate about the ministry of Jehovah's Witnesses. For several years, she served as a care giver for Mr. Kelly's parents and aunt, often cooking three separate meals, three times a day for the family. An avid and accomplished cook, her specialties were her triple layer chocolate cake, her own cheesecake and her Italian sauces and foods. Her husband rated her cooking as five star cooking. She also loved to raise vegetables and flowers and was an accomplished seamstress. Lorraine had a unique gift as a hostess and loved to entertain guests in her home, going so far as to create a special dining room for that purpose.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Rachel Ann Kelly and her fianc Timothy Summers of State College, and Wendy Ann Bullock of Springfield, MO; two sons, David Michael Kelly of Pittsburgh, PA and Fred Fitzgerald Kelly and his wife Deborah of Roxboro, NC; four grandchildren, Lucas Kelly, April Frank, and Nathaniel and Karissa Summers; and one sister Kathleen Dilauro of Las Vegas.
Friends will be received from 1 -3 p. m. Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 101 Villandry Blvd., State College, PA. A memorial service will follow immediately at 3:00 p. m at the Kingdom Hall with Sylvester Gallagher an elder in the State College Congregation presiding. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
