Lula E. Vonada, 100, of Pleasant Gap, died on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Centre Crest Nursing Center in Bellefonte.
She was born June 3, 1908, in Miles Township, PA a daughter of the late William and Sarah (Winkleblech) Bowersox.
She married Russell G. Vonada on June 5, 1934, who preceded her in death on December 24, 1988. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christine Marie.
Mrs. Vonada was employed in the food service division at the Pennsylvania Sate University retiring July 1, 1973.
Lulu especially enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by Nancy Martz of Pleasant Gap and five grandchildren: Donald, Jr., Elizabeth, Jodi, Melissa and Randy, and two great grandchildren Amanda and Jessica.
Friends will be received from 1:00-2:00 pm, on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will follow at 2:00 pm with the Reverend Alex Dyakiw officiating. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park State College, PA
