Lydia M. Styers, 87, of Centre Hall died at the Mt. Nittany Medical Centre on Saturday October 7, 2006.
Born in Mifflin County on June 24, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Abram and Arie Grassmyer.
On November 12, 1937 she married H. Ray Styers who died December 3, 2005.
Lydia was a homemaker and was also employed as a production worker for Gettig Pharmaceuticals. She was a member of Summit Hill Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and making hard tack candy.
Surviving are her daughters, Darlene Packer and Sharon Showers of Centre Hall and Deloris Kerlin of York; her sons, Gerald of Reedsville and William of State College; her sisters, Mary Sheats of Meza, AZ and Ida Styers of Castanea; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Grassmyer.
The family will receive guest from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Wednesday October 11th at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral & Cremation Services, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall. A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 12th at 10:00 AM at the Grace United Methodist Church, 127 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall with the Rev. Kenneth Stephens officiating. Burial will be in the Reformed & Lutheran Cemetery, W. Church St., Centre Hall.
