Mae I Ebbs, 92, of Jupiter, Florida died peacefully Monday, August 14 at Palm Beach Gardens Hospice and Palliative Care Unit.
Born on March 6, 1914 in Coleville, Pennsylvania, Mae was a daughter of the late William J and Emma E Smith Miller. She lived most of her early life in and around Bellefonte. On August 17, 1940 she married George H Ebbs of Marengo. Later that year, Mae and George moved to Coraopolis, PA where they raised their family. George died on August 29, 1980. In 1995 she moved to State College to be nearer her siblings. Mae moved once again - this time to Jupiter, Florida where she has lived with her daughter, Polly, since 1999.
Mae is survived by her children: George H Ebbs Jr of Ormond Beach, FL; Polly Ebbs of Jupiter, FL; Kathy Lake of Aledo, TX; and Donna Harrison of Kingwood, TX. Her grandchildren are Stacey Ebbs of Jamaica Plains, MA; Cindy Ebbs of New York City, NY; George H. Ebbs III and Alexandra Ebbs of Ormond Beach, FL; Jessica Hardin and Taylor Stoy of Kingwood, TX. Her surviving sisters are Isabel Hughes and Annabelle Wills of Hughesville, PA.
Mae touched everyone who knew her because of her love of life and her generous spirit. Our lives are richly blessed for having known and loved her. She will remain forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services PC, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Evelyn Wald officiating.
