Marshall P. Shawver , 88, of rural Spring Mills, died Friday, October 21, 2005 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA.
He was born July 12, 1917, in Millheim, a son of the late Irvin and Annie Vonada Shawver
On May 9, 1945 he married Freda Mae Weaver who survives at home.
Mr. Shawver attended Millheim schools. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II, and was a life member of the V. F. W. Post 1600 in Bellefonte, and a member of American Legion Post 779, of Centre Hall. He was also a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Tusseyville.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Jean I. Rockey of Bellefonte and Ruth S. Dunlap of Lock Haven; two sons, Jeffrey M. Shawver of Bellefonte, and Stephen P. Shawver of Spring Mills, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren
Early in life he worked at Cerro then returned to farming in the area, then he went to work for Potter Twp. until his retirement.
He cherished his family and enjoyed woodworking.
Friends will be received from noon until the time of the service, Mon, Oct. 24, 2005, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services 226, S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The funeral will be at 2:00 p. m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Duane Bardo officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Millhiem, PA
