Born on February 23, 1916 in Bremerhaven-Lehe, West Germany, she was a daughter of the late Fritz and Anna (Bse) Popp.
On February 20, 1937, she was married to Gutav F. Koch, who preceded her in death on August 24, 2004.
In 1956, along with her husband, she came to the United States, a decision she never regretted.

She also was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in State College, where she belonged to the knitting and crocheting club. She enjoyed making scarves, baby blankets, and hats for underprivileged people. Most of all, she was a devoted and beloved mother.
She is survived by a daughter Traute Greb and her husband Wolfgang of rural Port Matilda; one son, Hartmut Koch and his wife Janice of Toms River, NJ; 2 grandchildren Monica and Kevin, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers and was the last of her generation.
