Martha N. Schreckengast, 96, of Centre Hall, PA and a long time resident of Long Beach, California; died Friday, January 30, 2004; at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA
She was born Dec. 29, 1907 at Avis, PA; a daughter of the late Harry M. and Mary Reese Schreckengast.
She graduated from Avis High School in Avis, PA in 1925 and later attended a business college in Long Beach California.
Ms. Schreckengast worked in the accounting department at Dean's Electronics in Long Beach, California.
While living in Long Beach CA, she was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and while living in Pennsylvania she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Centre Hall. She was also a member of an accounting club in Long Beach.
Martha was an avid reader and enjoyed cross stitching.
Her only survivors are cousins including Catherine Meyers of Centre Hall with whom she resided for nearly 25 years.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a. m. until 11:00 a. m. Monday, February 2, 2004 at Grace United Methodist Church, 127 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The funeral will be at 11:00 a. m. at the church with the Rev. Dan Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery in Pine Creek Township near Avis.
