Martha B. Weaver, age 89, of State College, died on October 8, 2008 at the Fairways of Brookline.
Born March 23, 1919 she was a daughter of the late Guy R. and Alice Mary Marshall Brooks.
She was the wife of the late Fred Weaver who preceded her in death on February 14, 2001.
Martha was a member of the St. Peters United Church of Christ in Pine Hall. She was the head cook at Penn State University for twenty-two years retiring in 1980. Martha was a Linden Hall Garden Club member for many years and was a avid gardener. She loved to bowl and do fancy work.
Mrs. Weaver is survived by a daughter Judy Long and her husband Forrest of Boalsburg; two sons Keith Weaver and his wife Janet of British Columbia, Canada and Barry Weaver and his wife Nancy of Thermopolis Wyoming; two sisters Betty Hartley of State College and Connie Tressler and her husband Harrison of Pleasant Gap; two brothers Phillip Brooks of Fort Myers, FL and Basil Brooks and his wife Mona of Rebersburg, PA; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by four brothers.
Visitation will be 10 - 11 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, with the pastor Charles Fitzgerald, of St. Peters United Church of Christ, officiating.
