Mary Ellen Barndt's Obituary
Mary Ellen (Walker) Barndt, 85, of Bellefonte died on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township.
She was born on August 10, 1923 in Marsh Creek to the late Percy and Jane M. (Huntingdon) Walker.
She was married in 1947 to Roy Barndt , who preceded her in death on January 20, 1995.
She graduated from Blanchard High School in the 10th grade. After high school, she went to work for Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven as a welder, where she had met and married her late husband.
She enjoyed craftwork, embroidery, quilting, gardening, and canning.
She was Protestant by faith.
She is survived by her thirteen children, Ron Barndt of Howard, Joyce Shuey of State College, Nelson Barndt of Bellefonte, Dan Barndt of Howard, Dianne Barndt of Centre Hall, Steve Barndt of Port Matilda, Dennis Barndt of Howard, Nancy Albright of Drifting, Donna Rhoads of Howard, Kevin Barndt of Bellefonte, Rodney Barndt of Bellefonte, Roger Barndt of Julian, Sherry Whitehill of Centre Hall, and Sharon Tressler of Morrisdale; six brothers and sisters, her twin sister, Marie Irvin of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Myrtle Singer of Beech Creek, Betty Falls of Beech Creek, Blanche Heaton of Clintondale, Lois Moore of Blanchard, and Clarence Walker of Julian; Eighteen Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren, Two Great-Great Grandchildren, Ten Step Grandchildren, and Seven Step Great Grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2008 from 6 - 9 PM at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Funeral Services will be held at the Eagle Heights Bible Church, 1426 North Eagle Valley Road, Howard, beginning at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 25, 2008 with the Reverend Stephen R. Hicks officiating. Burial will be at the Centre County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be sent to the American Diabetes Association, Harrisburg Office, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110
