Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Corl, 43, of State College, died May 1, 2009, after a brave battle with breast cancer. She passed away quietly in the home that she loved, surrounded by family.
Beth was born on May 29, 1965, in Jacksonville, NC, to Jo Ann Marsh and Franklin H. Marsh. In 1976, the family settled in State College, PA, where Beth began growing in the community. In 1983, she graduated from State College Area High School.
She was a kind and loving wife, daughter, sister, and friend who enjoyed life to its fullest. Beth took great pride in her home and garden; she loved music, travel, and Penn State football, even traveling to see the Nittany Lions play in South Bend and Tampa, even while battling her disease.
As the owner of Finishing Touch Services, a residential and commercial cleaning and light construction business, Beth was a tireless worker and counted many of her clients and employees as friends.
She was involved in many business and philanthropic organizations and enjoyed volunteering for the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts each summer.
Beth is survived by her husband, Rodney A. Corl and two step-children, Stephanie and Ryan Corl, all of State College; her mother Jo Ann, of State College; her father Franklin Marsh, of Clermont, FL; a bother, Lee, of Orlando, FL; and a sister, Dana, of Arlington, VA. She also leaves behind her beloved cats Pookie, Max, Chloe and Ashes.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in State College on Monday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. Friends will be received at a reception at the church immediately following the service.
