Mary Ellen Bleam Hostetter, 89, of State College, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Village at Penn State-Atrium.

She was born July 4, 1935, in Center County, PA. She was the youngest child of the late William Clayton Bleam and Mary Price Bleam.  She was predeceased by her three older siblings, Gladys Landis, Arlene Carbaugh, and Franklin Bleam.

On June 1, 1957, she married Richard Stern Hostetter, Jr., her loving husband of over 62 years. She was a devoted wife, mother of three, beloved grandmother of seven, and great-grandmother to five precious little ones. Mary Ellen was a woman of deep faith, and her belief in the Lord guided every aspect of her life. After raising her family, she followed her entrepreneurial dreams and opened a women's dress shop, where she had the opportunity to serve the women of her community. She enjoyed sailing, golfing, water skiing, snow skiing, and traveling—anything that allowed her to be outdoors, appreciating God's beautiful creation.

Mary Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Richard Hostetter. She is survived by her two daughters, Dr. Susan Krieger and Dorothy Ardill; her son, Robert Hostetter; seven grandchildren: Marie, Katie, Heather, Anna, Sara, Erica, and David; and five cherished great-grandchildren: Haven, Ellowyn, Owen, Emily, and Keon.
