Mary Veronica Nelson, aged 94, passed away at The Village at Penn State on Monday, June 3rd. Born in Hampstead, London, England on November 7, 1929, Mary was the oldest daughter of the late Frederick James Piddlesden and Nancy Cecilia Lee. In 1950, she married Eric Nelson who preceded her in death in August of 2020 after 69 years of marriage.

Mary and Eric emigrated to the United States in 1957 with one son and all became United States citizens in 1962. Mary was educated at the Green School, Isleworth, Middlesex, UK, in 1946 and was a graduate of the McCann School of Business, Reading, Pennsylvania in 1979 and The Pennsylvania State University in 2001.

Mary is survived by one son, Jeremy Nelson of Germantown, Maryland; her son-in-law and daughter, James and Julia Glover of State College; and two granddaughters, Jordan Glover and her husband, Brandon Martin, of State College and Callan Glover and her husband, Brandon Kliefoth, of Downingtown, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by one brother, John Piddlesden and his wife, Sylvia in Welling, Kent, UK.

In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by two sons, Jonathan in 1964 and Carl in 2013 and one sister, Helen Davies of the United Kingdom in 2023.

A private remembrance gathering at the convenience of the family is planned. At her request, no visitation or services are planned.
