Mary E. Shirk, 87, of Lewistown passed away Monday, November 23, 2020, at Valley View Haven, Belleville, PA.

She was born September 20, 1933, in Lewistown, a daughter of the late John Henry and Florence Mae (Lynch) Mitchell. On April 8, 1951, she married James Donald Shirk who preceded her in death on December 24, 1995.

Mary worked as an Assembler for Sanyo Fisher Electronics. She retired after 40 years of service.

She attended Strodes Mills Baptist Church. She was a member of the Moose, Eagles – 4294 in Burnham and a volunteer at the Lewistown Senior Citizen Center.

Mary is survived by four children; Cathy Lee Leeper (John) of Lewistown, Cindy Lu Marker of Reedsville, James Donald Shirk Jr., (Lisa) of Lewistown and Ronald Lee Shirk (Penny) of Lewistown, she is also survived by seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Lee Shirk, grandson, Stevie Marker; son-in-law, Steve Marker, and her eleven brothers. She was especially close to her big brother Richard (Dick) who always took her under his wing.

A celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
