Mary Helen Strayer, 80 of Bellefonte, died on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at Centre Community Hospital in State College, PA. She was born July 13, 1922 in Huntingdon County, a daughter of the late Walter David and Carrie Arvilla Bloom Johnston. On April 12, 1941 in Pine Grove Mills, she married Samuel L. Strayer Sr., who died on October 21, 2000. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her handicraft work, which included knitting and crocheting. She was a loving person to all her friends and family. She is survived by a daughter, Carol King of Manheim, a son Samuel L. Strayer Jr. of Milesburg, a sister, Esther Keith of Bellefonte; 4 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Matis and Alice Kohlbecker; and a brother William Johnston. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p. m. today at Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, Inc, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will be at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, at the funeral home with the Rev.
